How will I study?

Firstly, we do not teach like a tradition education provider. You will be tutored and mentored throughout your course on a 1:1 basis - at your own pace.

Our Grantham training centre is your best option if you are local and able to attend, as you will benefit from tutor support when you need it along with peer support from fellow learners. The training centre is not a typical classroom environment - the radio will be on, as will the kettle!

Classroom times are as follows - with the exception of Lincolnshire school holidays, bank holidays and festive periods. Which can be found on our term time page here

Monday 09.30-12.30

Tuesday 09.30-12.30

Thursday 09.30-12.30 / 18.00-21.00

If you are unable to attend the Grantham centre, don’t worry - your tutor will work with you on a blended learning basis. This means you will be given all the support you need via a multitude of ways - this is either via 1:1 zoom sessions, phone calls, emails, texts or WhatsApp - whatever suits you.

How long will it take?

As long as it takes you. The official guidance is that it will take approximately 2 months - however if you get through quicker than that - fine, if you take a little longer - that’s fine too! Here at 3CATS, we work with you until you are comfortable in your understanding before moving on.

How is it assessed?

There are tutor marked assignments throughout the course to support each of the study units. Once you have completed them all, including the practice assessments and your tutor is in agreement you can take your final assessment - which is a 150 minute exam. Exams are held in the Grantham office for free for 3CATS learners. A suitable time and date will be organised between you and your tutor.

If you are unable to attend the Grantham centre, you will need to make arrangements for an exam centre closer to you - including paying their fees.

Any other fees?

You will be required to pay an annual student membership to IAB before 3CATS can enrol you. This is a cost of £50. It is quite possible to do 2 courses under 1 membership.

Learners who take their exams in the Grantham centre are free. If you are unable to attend the Grantham centre, you will need to make arrangements for an exam centre closer to you - including paying their fees.

You may need some study text books to support your learning throughout the course(s) however if you study in the Grantham centre there is a healthily stocked bookcase with study text books for you to use and borrow

How much will it cost?

The price you will pay for this course with 3CATS is only £210.

This price does not include student membership, study text books or external exam centre.
